I'm Liza. I'm a personal finance educator and the founder of Friendly Money.

By day, I work in the tech industry in NYC. By night, I help early-career professionals decipher the hidden language of retirement accounts, tax withholdings, and FICO scores. While my professional background is in tech, I've earned my MBA from Columbia Business School and passed the Series 65, the rigorous legal and ethical exam required for professional investment advisors. This means I’ve been trained on the same fiduciary principles and investment laws as the pros.

I've seen firsthand how rare it is to find approachable, comprehensive education for people just starting out. I realized my friends and colleagues felt the same: capable in their careers, but guessing their way through their finances. After navigating those same rites of passage and diving into years of deep research, I created Friendly Money to give others the clear, supportive starting line I wish I’d had.​
